Cityscapes

Top (Marshalls), skirt (eBay), scarf turned headband (Dior via mom's closet), clutch (Asos), heels (Asos), rings (H&M), chain necklace (gifted), belt (Cotton On)

A little chic, a little sophisticated, and a bit of class. This simple outfit used basic colors and everyday pieces to create this feminine look with emphasis on the detailed accessories. For those simple evenings out in the city, opting for a classier ensemble fits right in with the urban setting. A denim chambray goes a long way and it works with almost any outfit, dressed up or dressed down. As opposed to my grungy look last week, I paired the denim chambray with a basic black high-low skirt to dress it up. Remember when high-low skirts were really popular when they were first introduced? I still like to use mine every now and then, especially when I'm wearing long-sleeved or bulklier tops. In this case, the high-low cut balanced out the button-down, otherwise, a maxi skirt would be too overwhelming for the entire outfit. But because the two pieces were solid colored, I thought it would be fun to add in some pop of colors and patterns. The headband is actually a scarf I found in my mom's closet. I really loved the orange-y pattern and colors, and it complemented the solid black and blue. The cheetah print skinny belt added a nice classy touch without clashing with the orange headband. I wore simple gold jewelry to make it a little more casual and of course, the strappy heels that we all love and own nowadays completed the whole look. There's not much else to say about the outfit since it's pretty simple and completely wearable by anyone. I mean we all get a little lazy every now and then but that doesn't mean compromising our style. Just add a bunch of accessories and you'll still look like you spent a decent amount of time getting ready.

Also, I don't think the outfit could have looked half as justified if it weren't for these amazing photographs from Drew Dizon. I've worked with him before if you remember my post here. Can't wait to continue working with him!

Style Tip: When pairing a solid top with a solid bottom, use accessories to create color and variety. Minimal details actually dress up the entire outfit without clashing with each other or overwhelming the look.
