Hihi! I apologize for the late post I had promised to have yesterday but I randomly caught a fever so I've kind of been bedridden and resting for the past two days. But without further ado, here is my weekly outfit post!

The denim on denim trend has been pretty prominent in fashion lately. What was once considered a fashion no-no is now actually seen on celebrities and bloggers everywhere. But then again, what is fashion if it's not breaking the rules, right? I admit, I used to think denim on denim was so the 70s but after seeing it uniquely styled in so many ways, I thought I'd give it a try and add my own style to it. Thrifted style that is. This entire outfit could not have cost any more than $30 all thanks to my favorite thrift stores and discount finds. Which is perfect since denim never goes out of style anyways so you'll always find great pieces in thrift stores for way cheaper than retail stores. In fact, these denim high-waisted shorts are just jeans I bought for about $9 that I cut up myself. I decided to layer up with more blue (I mean it is my favorite color) with an old thrifted striped button-down but to add some contrast from all the blue, I wore a muted beige cardigan in between. These espadrilles were from a few years ago when Toms first came out but I didn't have the money to spend on them so I found these Lucky Brand ones for $10 at Marshalls. I never really had the chance to wear them until now and I don't know why I didn't because they're super comfy and practical for everyday wear. This outfit is more basic than what I normally wear but I tried to change it up a bit by adding my own twist to the denim on denim trend.

Hope you're all having a wonderful week!

Denim-ly yours,
Mai Sunshine

Style tip: When wearing denim on denim, pair different shades of blue to contrast the two.
