I love a good black and white outfit with tiny splashes of vibrant colors. Not only do they give the monochrome outfit a little life, but they also pop nicely against it. Almost like a classic black and white film with just red accenting--a simple detail that enhances the cinematic appeal drastically.

Leggsington sent me some awesome pairs of leggings that are completely different from what I'm used to. At first, I thought there was no way I could go back to wearing leggings like I had a few years ago (unless they were the plain black ones I'd wear on my lazy days with an oversized tee thrown over) but surprisingly enough, they were just the addition I needed for my fall wardrobe. And I like that they have unique styles and designs that aren't found in your typical store. For instance, these Jess leggings are super abstract and I had no idea how I would style them at first, but I was attracted to the way they looked like athletic leggings (because apparently I thought they would motivate me to work out....ha!). But instead, I decided to go for a sophisticated look and paired them with a black and white mini dress I thrifted and a blazer over to finish off the look. Who knew the dress-leggings combo could still be in style?? But it worked, and worked perfectly. My favorite part of the outfit, though, is the hints of vibrant colors incorporated. The dress had a green striped down the sides and my black heels had some gold accents, so I added more color with my royal blue wallet (used as a clutch) and red lipstick to continue the subtle pops of color. An overall urban chic look for a weekday in the city.

Thanks for reading, loves!

Style tip: I've probably said this so many times in the past, but black and white outfits give you the creative freedom to mix and match patterns without overwhelming the look. Then you can accessorize with bits of color to tie it all together.

  1. ! used to be quite into leggings back in the day. Then I realized they were pretty much like a second skin and made my legs look bulkier or even shorter than it is if the length cuts off above or at the ankle. However, you really pulled it off with the abstract leggings paired with a mini dress topped with a blazer. I especially adore your hair - so fluffy and pretty! <3 xx :)
