As I begin my first week of my last year in college, I'll  post an outfit I did back in Cali a few weeks ago. Looking at the pictures make me miss it so much and the relaxing days of the summer. And if I were to be cremated when I died, Balboa Park is one of the places I'd like to have my ashes dispersed. I mean, this park was probably one of the most gorgeous parks I've been to with all its beautiful architecture and breathtaking gardens. Everything about it was absolutely stunning and I am so glad I made the trip down to San Diego to check this place out, if only for an hour or so.

It's funny, I actually didn't plan on matching with the scenery but it turned out I fit right in with my outfit that day. I opted for a more colorful and summery look with the floral patterned cropped top I got on sale at Urban Outfitters. I paired it with suede, semi-high waisted scalloped shorts I got for $5 at this 50% off all sale items at Forever 21. I'm really not a fan of Forever 21 since I always get completely overwhelmed by the amount of clothes there and the prices are usually not worth it for the quality but I really liked the simple sophistication of the suede shorts and I don't have any bottoms in this color so I couldn't pass up the deal. I wore it with this particular top because the main color of it matched the shorts perfectly and brought out the floral pattern more. I threw on my favorite oversized cardigan to pull the pieces together and accented it with coral lips.

Here's to summer nostalgia,
Mai Sunshine

Style tip: I usually don't like to blatantly match colors when pairing tops and bottoms, but with this outfit, it worked because the floral pattern on the top brought out the navy blue color of the shorts while still matching well enough together. It made it look like they were suppose to be a one-piece outfit.
