The Holiday Series: The Statement Dress

Merry Christmas!
Easily one of my favorite holidays of year, Christmas is the time when things really do become magical. I feel like the world simply becomes brighter and warmer. Maybe it's because of all the light decorations or maybe the enormous amounts of love and cheer spread amongst family and friends. Call me cliche and corny, but it makes me so happy during this time of year.
And so my Holiday outfit series concludes with this statement dress. An outfit that will definitely grab everyone's attention immediately but in a good way. I wanted to be a little more extravagant being that this is the last holiday outfit of the series. I thought I'd play it up and go all out because (quoting my favorite Christmas movie, Love Actually) "if you can't [do] it at Christmas, when can you, eh?" This happens to be my sister's prom dress last year but it was too pretty not to use and it has the perfect holiday color combination: maroon and gold. I wanted to add even more to complete the look so it was more than a prom dress. That's why I paired it with my Foxiedox faux fur vest (told you I'd wear it again). It added texture and created a nice color balance to the outfit.
