...okay, there weren't any sunflowers in this particular field, but the vibrant ones on my top make up for it and the Beatles song was stuck in my head, anyways.
You're probably all thinking, it is blazing hot here and this girl is wearing not one, but two sweaters? But I swear I have an explanation. So this is actually a post from a while ago when the weather was fair enough to bare leg but still cool enough to layer up lightly. And as to why I have waited until now to post a belated outfit slightly out of season...well, I don't exactly have an excuse. It's alright because I hope there are some people out there who aren't suffering in humid, sticky weather at the moment and may probably find this outfit as a current inspiration, and if not, I hope you will just admire the photography (because I sure do).
I have to admit, I'm pretty attracted to sunflowers and daisies and flowers of the like. They're summery, a bit girly, and if you haven't already guessed it, part of the reason behind my nickname or at least close to it. So I was immediately drawn to it when I was browsing through my roommates closet (have I mentioned how frequently I borrowed clothes?) and needed to have it in the blog. I paired it with a faux denim skater skirt to match the girliness of the floral top. But it would have looked too plain in my opinion to leave it at that so I layered on a thin slouchy cardigan to pull the two pieces together. I also tried to do something different by rolling my thigh high socks down to ankle length otherwise I would look too covered up if I wore them to my thighs. Whether you'd like to save this outfit as inspiration for the next season or if you're experiencing an unusually extra cool summer that justifies this outfit, I hope you liked my styling anyways!
