Happy 2-monthiversary to my blog! And as my monthly celebration, I'm sharing another one of my style inspirations. Here is Sarah Rogado, a third-year at Rutgers Pharmacy School. She is super cute and has a bubbly personality. Funny story about how I found out about her: I was on the campus bus and the bus stopped at one of the dorm buildings. I saw this girl dressed up in a really nice jumpsuit with an oversized cardigan thrown over and dope shades. I thought, This girl has a really bold style for Rutgers. And from then, I kept noticing her as the fashion risk-taker. Okay, that may have sounded more creepy than I had anticipated but I guess you get my point. Anyways, what I admire about Sarah is that she isn't afraid to be bold and stand out in a sea of sweatshirt/sweatpants-wearing college students. She definitely stands out and I love that her wardrobe has such unique pieces. She doesn't tend to follow any trends but does her own thing, all while managing to look great. Sarah has a one-of-a-kind style that I just had to show off on my blog.

1. How would you describe your style?
It’s based on classic pieces and simple looks but I like to add in small experimental twists.

2. Who or what do you draw your fashion inspiration from?
I draw a lot of inspiration from what my friends are wearing or even just from what I see people I walk by wearing.

3. What made you choose this outfit?
I fell in love with this oversized-suit jacket I found in my mom’s closet, so I like to wear it when I get the chance to. It’s the perfect jacket fall jacket for me.

4. What would be your "Style Tip" for this outfit?
Don’t be afraid to experiment with different silhouettes! Although sometimes your first instinct is to have a very fitted look, sometimes oversizing and loose shapes can look just as chic.

5. Name a few things in your closet that you must keep.
Oversized sweaters, knee/thigh high socks, and scarves.

6. Where do you usually shop?
Mostly at my local thrift store, Uniqlo, Target, Urban Outfitters… and does my mom’s closet count? haha

7. What are some trends right now that you are a fan of?
I’m a huge fan of the black-and-white trend and structured jackets right now.

8. What do you think makes your style stand out?
I’m not afraid to try unexpected ways of pairing up clothing and pay close attention to how I can layer things. You’d be pleasantly surprised by how well some things can pair together even though you don’t expect them to.

Like I promised, I'll be featuring a new style inspiration each month so please stay tuned because she/he might be your inspiration too!

Happy Friday,
Mai Sunshine
