Orange Starburst, orange Skittles, orange Sour Patch Kids--what do they have in common? They're my least favorite flavor in any bunch. (Yet, ironically enough, I live in a town named after the fruit.) So, when I saw this maxi skirt at Closet in San Diego, I was surprised I didn't mind the color on this one. I liked that it was a deep orange and it was a solid maxi with lots of potential...and only for $6! Kudos for reaching out of my color comfort zone for cheap. I paired the skirt with a light blue flowy top to contrast the tight fit and the dark tone, and added a long fringe cardigan that I bought from fellow blogger, Melanie Pangilinan of Aetherlily. She's a Jersey native as well and one of the few famous bloggers I adamantly follow so be sure to check her out! And to top off the outfit, I added vintage gold jewelry to continue the boho feel.

Try to invest in a good solid maxi skirt for the summer! They're easy to dress up or down and perfect for the summer weather.

Safekeeping,
Mai Sunshine

Style tip: Adding a fringe cardigan to two solid pieces adds texture and keeps it from looking bland. And with a form-fitting maxi skirt, add a flowy top to give the outfit some shape.
