Back to Basics

I realized I've been very into the tie-around-the-waist kind of look lately but it's purely coincidental. And in this particular outfit, I've received a lot of comments that I've mimicked the 90s style but fashion recycles itself. I mean, who doesn't own a crop top nowadays, anyways. I just find it to be a different way of incorporating layers for the spring season, now that the weather is getting warmer. I needed a bit of color and texture to the black and white ensemble. But I decided to stick to the basics this time because I wanted to focus on these killer Jeffrey Campbell heels. They're actually my sister's, specifically for her junior prom, and I just couldn't pass up on the chance to wear them myself. I wanted the main focus to be on the shoes so the rest of the outfit is plainly black and white and denim...which isn't a bad thing! It's always a great go-to outfit, but the big gold embellishments on the heels had to be highlighted (especially since they're lion heads). And these black jogger pants are so comfortable and perfect for those beautiful spring days--not too cold nor too hot. I love the laid-back vibe of the look with the 90s twist to it.

How about that for a Throwback Thursday!

Bringing it back,
Mai Sunshine

Style Tip: With loose jogger pants and a thick denim jacket tied around the waist, you want to balance it out with a fit crop top. Also, the heels elongate your body so you don't look short with these specific pants.
