Sunny days make me a happy girl. They also make me excited to bring out clothes that are the perfect balance of warm and cool, without having to worry about freezing or sweating to death. I knew I liked spring for this reason (aside from the allergies, of course).

I always loved the idea of pairing boyfriend jeans with a classy pair of pointed toe pumps. It's a perfect combination of casual meets chic, messy meets girly. Plus, I wanted a chance to show off my $20 Rachel Roy heels find at Macy's. I've been meaning to find a good pair of classy pumps to add to my professional wardrobe and with a price like that for unique gold accents, they're worth boasting about. But I also wanted to bring a contrast to my distressed jeans so I played around with the idea of casual chic and complemented my floral embellished top with a camo jacket tied around the waist. I love the scalloped hem and texture of the top with the subtle hints of gold, which played nicely with my heels. But I felt the look wouldn't be complete without a bit of extra texture and pattern, hence the camo jacket. I tied it because wearing it would overwhelm the girly top. It's the perfect spring attire for those windier days but still chic enough for the season.

Shoutout to my roommate Jess for letting me borrow the top!

Springing forward,
Mai Sunshine

Style tip: Go for skinny distressed boyfriend jeans since the top and camo jacket are already baggy and loose.
